Can you name the two organelles
we have studied that contain
their own genetic material?
The two organelles that contain their own genetic material are mitochondria and chloroplasts (plastids).
Mitochondria are found in almost all eukaryotic cells and are responsible for generating energy through cellular respiration. Plastids, including chloroplasts, are found in plant cells and are responsible for photosynthesis. Both organelles have their own DNA, ribosomes, and can replicate independently of the nucleus.
