The work done by the force of gravity on a satellite moving in a circular orbit around the Earth is zero. This is because the force of gravity is always perpendicular to the direction of the satellite’s motion (displacement). The formula for work is Force × Displacement × cos(θ), where θ is the angle between the force and displacement vectors. Since the force and displacement are perpendicular, cos(90°) = 0, and therefore the work done is zero.
