In an electroscope if a negatively charged body is brought in
contact with the metal clip, the strips of the electroscope diverge.
If now another charged object carrying equal amount of prositive
charge is brought in contact with the clip, what will happen?
If a positively charged object with an equal amount of charge to the initial negative charge is brought in contact with the electroscope, the strips of the electroscope will contract and move closer together, returning to their original position. This happens because the positive charge neutralizes the negative charge on the electroscope
