precaution would you take to protect yourself?
If an earthquake strikes while outside, the following precautions can be taken:
– Move to a clear, open area away from buildings, trees, streetlights, and power lines.
– Drop to the ground and stay there until the shaking stops.
– If in a vehicle, stop as quickly as possible and remain inside until the shaking ceases.
– Avoid bridges and overpasses, as well as anything that could fall, such as power lines, signs, and buildings.
